Oscar Peñalber is a self-taught, award-winning artist who was born in Mendoza, Argentina. At age 10, his family moved to Buenos Aires, and in 1979, he came to live in Miami and made it his permanent home.

He has always being a creative person. At the age of four he started his musical career as a singer, and later as a guitar player. As a teenager, he took acting classes and started his love affair with photography. He has also worked with leaded glass and mosaic.

His extensive travels around the world serve him as inspiration for his paintings. His favorite medium is canvas, but he also uses wood, paper, glass, or any other available medium.

"I am a fully self-taught artist and a perpetual learner and explorer. This resistance to formal training breaks down barriers or preconceived notions on how to paint and liberates me to apply my creative energy as it comes--My approach to art is intuitive, spontaneous, curious and fearless...probably not a bad recipe for life."
